"You've always been very good at talking and dancing...ever since you were a baby I'm not kidding." said my mom as she reassured that this is in fact one of the many things I was created to do. I started Shine Season in the comfort of my own room. It was just me, my notebook, and my iPad mini. No fancy equipment or production team...just a girl with a passion for creating and a goal to establish a platform to express herself.
As I revisit the first episode of season 1, I am reminded of how this all started...at the end of my comfort zone. Growing up, I had this tendency to downplay my gifts and abilities in efforts to portray an image of meekness. As I grow and evolve I am constantly affirming that I was not created to be meek but, to be bold. Bold in my convictions, passions, gifts, and my abilities. I created Shine Season in hopes for it to be more than just a platform but a movement that helps one to awaken the light that one may be suppressing.
Many things have changed since I first started the podcast. One of the major things that has occurred is my move to Atlanta, Georgia. In the spring of 2018, I completed my studies in Communications Arts at my local community college. I had the option to remain in my hometown of Los Angeles, CA. Instead of settling for what I knew, I decided to attend my dream school, Clark Atlanta University. I may be more than 2,000 miles away from home but, I'm confident that I'm exactly where I need to be.
Although my life has experienced many transitions since the last episode I have not forgot about Shine Season. I mean...how could I? Shine Season is what allows me to express myself creatively while uplifting and informing others. So, with that being mentioned Shine Season is returning for Season 2 on February 1st, 2019.
